Every time, after a good party, you have to feel miserable and hopeless, because the hangover hits you good. It happens to all of us.

A lot of people probably think about never drinking alcohol again when the hangover is killing them. And they are searching for ways how to cure hangover fast and how to avoid this feeling. It only makes sense, because it feels like the worst day in their life and the cause of it is alcohol!
You might have had a lot of plans for the day but you can’t do anything, because you don’t have any health left to even leave your bed.
A few days pass and you’re feeling healthy again. Guess what ? You’re alright with the idea of drinking again, because you’re in a different state of mind now.
If you want to continue drinking alcohol, you should know that there are ways to avoid and ease your hangovers.
How To Cure Hangover Fast And How To Avoid It For Good?
I had a fair share of experiences myself when it comes to hangovers.
So, today I will share 10 methods that helped me out when I was suffering from a lot of hangovers and it will help you as well!
1. Consider Drinking A Bit Less…
It might be quite obvious but the more you drink, the harder it will be for you in the morning.
But not everyone is the same. There are many factors that will decide how you feel the following day.
Things like gender, body weight, the food you ate, type of alcohol you consumed and so on. All of these things will determine the strength of your hangover.
Some people might require just a few drinks and hangover will kick in. Some might need quite a lot of alcohol to feel the effects of hangover.
So the best way to avoid hangover is to limit the amount of alcohol you consume. Try taking longer stops between each drink and avoid stronger alcohols.
When you get drunk, it becomes really hard to control yourself. You might start drinking twice the amount, because you’re feeling high. Try to avoid getting very drunk.
Once you start feeling dizzy, it’s a sign that you should start limiting the alcohol intake right now.
2. Water Is Your Savior!
It’s easy to even forget water exists when you’re drinking alcohol.
You get a hangover mostly, because of dehydration. If you pee a lot when you drink alcohol, then you tend to lose a lot of fluids.
Drinking a lot of water while partying is a good choice and it could potentially stop any kind of hangover from happening in the morning.
The best thing to do: drink a glass of water for every shot you take. I know, you might want to pee every 2 minutes but at least you won’t be dying in the morning.
You don’t necessarily need to drink a glass of water every shot you take, just simply keep reminding yourself that if you want to avoid hangover, then you need drinking a lot of water.
Another good idea, is to have a bottle of water next to your bed when you go to sleep after drinking alcohol. You might wake up really thirsty, so having water next to you is a good way to start easing your hangover.
3. Put Some Food In Your Mouth!
Before you even start drinking, you should fill your stomach with a lot of food! Have a healthy breakfast and have a lot of snacks.
Also, don’t forget to eat food while you’re partying. I’m pretty sure when you’re feeling quite dizzy, all you’re thinking about is how to get another shot of vodka, but it’s important to focus on food as well.
Drinking on an empty stomach can get you drunk really fast and your hangover will be quite terrible. So if you don’t want to feel like you’re in hell the next morning while thinking how to cure hangover, then eat more than you drink!
Food will help your body to metabolize the alcohol you consume. And you WANT to metabolize alcohol as fast as possible to avoid hangover after drinking.
4. Find Some Activities
If you’re always sitting near the bottle, chances are, you’re going drinking way more alcohol than you should. And we all know where that leads to in the morning… HANGOVER.
Don’t just sit there all the time. Do something. You could go dancing… And of course, you might regret it in the morning, because while you’re drunk, you might think your moves are superior.
Only when you wake up, you realize that you were dancing like a crazy person and everyone was laughing from you. Been there, done that.
But don’t focus on the negatives, don’t think about what happened yesterday. The most important part, is that you had fun at that time.
You could also have some conversations with different people which might take your thoughts away from drinking. You might feel like you’re having really deep conversations with someone but then, the morning comes…
And then you realize that you were talking complete nonsense and you hope that nobody remembers it. Too bad, your friends weren’t as drunk as you and they remember everything…
It’s alright… any kind of activity is good (even if you want to forget everything you did the day before), because you forget about the alcohol for a second. This helps you consume way less alcohol and you’re avoiding hangover this way.
5. Forget About The Smokes
While smoking doesn’t cause hangovers by itself, it does increase the chance of getting a terrible hangover.
A lot of people, even those who are not smokers, most of the time feel the urge to smoke when drinking alcohol.
You might get tempted to smoke, because everyone goes out for a smoke and has some fun conversations. You feel like you need to smoke as well, so you grab a cigarette and light it up.
But actually, alcohol and cigarettes are a combination you should avoid. It gets you drunk way faster and the morning is way more horrible than it could be.
It’s not entirely known why smoking affects hangovers so bad. For example, smoking is linked to having sleep deprivation, which is bad for hangovers, because the worse your sleep quality, the harder it will be to survive the morning.
Also, it’s quite obvious that smoking affects your health in many ways. Because of a poorer health, your body finds it harder to fight off the alcohol.
So, the next time you’re drinking and you decide to go for a smoke, think about tomorrow. If you want to feel better, then don’t even think about smoking.
And don’t smoke when you wake up in the morning. Your hangover might be so bad that you won’t even think about smoking, but if you do decide to smoke, remember that it won’t help you cure it.
6. Get Up And Exercise!
When you wake up in the morning, the first questions you might ask yourself, is – “How to cure hangover fast” or “how not to die from hangover”. I had those questions as well…
My most favorite way to cure a hangover, is to do some exercise. I know, when the hangover is killing you in the morning, the least you want to do is exercise.
But you have to find the willpower to move your body. I love playing basketball and I don’t care what’s going on in my life, I will always go out and play.
When I had terrible hangovers, I would still want to play basketball. Getting there needed a lot of willpower but once you start moving your body, you slowly start feeling better.
After I would finish playing, I’d barely feel any symptoms anymore.
Exercising boosts your metabolism and it rids your body of toxins faster. Of course, if you’re feeling really terrible, then something like playing basketball might not be an option.
You don’t need to involve yourself in a high intensity exercises. Going for a walk is just enough. You might just need a little sun in your face to start feeling a bit better.
As you begin to feel better, you attempt running for 10 minutes or something like that. Just get your body moving and it will cure your hangover faster.
7. Consider A Hot Shower
Once you begin to feel like you’re able to get out of your bed, you should consider a hot shower (For some, cold showers work better)!
It can definitely ease your pain. A hot shower can reduce the confusion you have when you wake up and reduce the dizzy feeling.
Your tense muscles will relax and your skin will breathe easier. Since hot showers just simply feel good, it will refresh your body and the mind.
Also, it will help your body to get rid of all the toxins that entered your system while you were drinking. Hot showers help you sweat out all the toxins, which will improve the speed of your recovery.
So don’t spend all your day in bed. A hot shower can kick start your day after drinking a lot!
8. Don’t Forget To Sleep!
If you don’t have a quality sleeping “session” after a good night of partying, then your hangover will be quite the pain.
Alcohol is related to disturbing your sleep quality but it doesn’t mean you can’t get quality sleeping hours. The reason why you fail to get quality sleep when drinking, is because you go to sleep very late.
Most parties start out late in the evening and basically end in the morning. This alone disturbs your sleep cycle. Usually, if you go to sleep in the morning (while drunk), you will wake up without getting enough sleep.
Someone will wake you up or your biological clock will do that for you. You will wake up feeling like total crap and probably still pretty drunk but you will already feel the effects of hangover.
If you have slept only a few hours, the best thing to do – go back home and get some more sleep. When you fall asleep, at least you won’t feel the symptoms.
It’s probably one of the best ways to get through hangovers… just sleep it off. But only if you have no plans for the day!
9. Drink Some More In The Morning!
While I do not recommend drinking alcohol the next morning, it could ease your hangover. Obviously, if you feel like crap and you’re vomiting everywhere, you shouldn’t consume anymore alcohol, because you might have alcohol poisoning.
A lot of people try to cure their hangover by drinking more alcohol. But I don’t think it’s worth it, because it only pushes your hangover to the next day.
When you drink in the morning, you can get drunk really fast, because the alcohol from yesterday hasn’t left your system yet.
When you get drunk again, you might not want to stop. So you decide that drinking for one more day is alright. The third day will be even more horrible, because your hangover is now even stronger.
Like I’ve said, a shot might help you out in the morning but it could lead to more problems and unhealthy habits.
If you do decide to ease your pain this way, firstly remember that there are many other ways how to cure hangover. If you feel like this is the only way, then be careful.
Don’t consume too much alcohol, so you wouldn’t get too drunk again. Try drinking as little as possible. After you start feeling better, you might get urges drinking more.
Try to resist those urges, because this could lead to alcoholism. And you don’t want that…
10. Forget About Coffee
Coffee does sound like a good choice. You feel dizzy and confused, you find it hard to get out of bed, so you decide to get yourself a cup of coffee in hope of boosting your energy.
While coffee might boost your energy when you’re sober, it doesn’t really help when you’re suffering from alcohol.
I’ve mentioned before, you get hangovers mostly, because of dehydration. Coffee only dehydrates your body even further.
If you have a terrible headache, coffee will definitely help you out in making your headache even stronger… I don’t think this is what you’re looking for when you want to cure your hangover.
There Are No Magic Tricks For This…
When you ask yourself how to cure hangover fast, just remember, there’s no real cure to avoid hangover after drinking. Only when the alcohol leaves your system, you will no longer feel the symptoms of hangover.
You can only ease your hangovers and make them go away a bit faster. The best thing to do, is simply remove alcohol from your life.
It’s not the easiest task, especially if your friends and family like to celebrate certain events by drinking alcohol. The least you could do is limit the amount of alcohol you consume.
Also, don’t drink every with every opportunity you get. If your friends simply decide to party for no reason, you could easily say no to that. Allow yourself to drink only on special occassions. This way you won’t drink as much.
Control yourself and you won’t need to experience hangovers.
