Most people would definitely prefer hot showers over freezing cold showers. And it’s understandable. Hot showers are warm, relaxing, makes you feel pretty good and it has its own set of benefits.
You might never even have considered doing it, because you never knew the benefits of taking a cold shower.
I started taking cold showers a year ago and before that, I never even considered taking them, because I HATE cold.
Hot showers are no longer the option for me… The cold ones are benefiting my mind and body way more!
I still don’t like taking cold showers but it makes me feel really good right after I finish showering.

Everything that happens in your daily life will be less stressful, because your body and mind develops the ability to handle stress much better than before.
All the small things won’t make you as angry and stressed. You will find it easier to handle the situations if something in your life doesn’t go the way you wanted it to go.

Taking cold showers is actually a great way to lose some extra weight. Since your body is getting cold from the water, it needs to keep itself warm.
And for that to happen your metabolism gets a nice boost, which means that you will be burning more calories.

Just don’t expect that your fat will drop like crazy just by taking cold showers. It doesn’t work like that. While it will definitely help a bit, you still need to eat healthy food and exercise regularly to maintain a healthy body.

I used to get sick quite a lot. Common cold for me was… well, common. When I started taking cold showers I realized that I haven’t been sick for a very long time.
It’s been a whole year now and I don’t get sick anymore. It just doesn’t happen! I’m also way more resistant to cold weather. I don’t feel as cold as before.
While everyone is putting on warm clothes, I feel like I could get out outside naked in the winter and still barely feel cold.

We always tend to stay in our comfort zone, because we are scared to try something new, afraid of taking actions.
Just think about your comfort zone. Things like playing video games, watching TV, driving a bike or even walking.
You feel very confident about these things, because you’ve done it for as long as you can remember and you find it easy. That is your comfort zone, where you feel safe and confident.
Now think about when you get out of your comfort zone, when you try something new. You start to doubt yourself, you begin to sweat and feel nervous about it, you feel like losing control. You don’t know if you can succeed at the thing you’re trying to do.
But with every challenge you throw at yourself, even though it might be scary at first, when you overcome that challenge, you start growing as a person. You become more confident in yourself, much wiser and all those fears you had will disappear, because now it becomes your comfort zone.
It’s the secret to succeeding in life
Every successful person succeeded because they always leave their comfort zone, it’s the secret to success. They venture deep outside to face all the challenges and fears.
It probably got you thinking, how can cold showers help you succeed in life? Well, cold showers are really good for leaving your comfort zone.
Whenever you enter your shower and you look at the knob, you start thinking what would happen if cold water would start raining down on you. You begin to fear this situation.
Then you start making excuses why you shouldn’t do that. “I hate cold, what’s the point, hot showers feel way better, I don’t need this”, are just a few excuses you might make.
And it happens all the time. You make excuses when you fear something. Talking to stranger, getting a new hobby or making changes in your life might sound scary to you. So you don’t do it, because you would need to get out of your comfort zone.
So, when you’re taking cold showers, you develop the ability to leave your comfort zone, because you’re facing your fear of cold water and you do it everyday.

How to start doing it
Like I’ve said before, starting out with freezing cold water without ever doing it before can put a lot of stress on you.
To get all the benefits of taking a cold shower you don’t have to start out with cold water. You can just start out with warm water and then go colder and colder until it can’t go any colder.
When you reach the coldest point, try staying there for 3 minutes. Then every day try to increase the time by 10 seconds until you get to 10 minutes.
I know it might sound really hard to do. It is hard. But you have to beat your own mind, don’t let it make excuses. Just take full control!
It all starts with you
If you never leave your comfort zone, then you’re missing out on life. Do you want to become the greatest version of yourself? Then don’t make excuses why you can’t do this or that.
Start taking cold showers and make it a daily habit. This habit will definitely lead you to many more great habits and you will have much more confidence and you’ll be able to beat all the challenges you’re getting in your daily life!
